WORK: cheers to friday
Cheers to the weekend! I suppose a wine post would be appropriate. I love these calligraphed wine labels designed by László Mihály Naske - found via thedieline. I think the spacing is spot on and the contained, colored date is a nice contrast to curves of the type. This just reinforces my strategy for choosing wine...... the label.

PHOTO: spring dreams
Another week is almost gone! Seems like March showers are bringing April flowers this year! Things are looking pretty green here in Minnesota... and I like it. Spring can only mean one thing... SUMMER is getting closer. Yes, please.

WORK: completed newsletter
Following up on my post WORK: in progress - I have completed the newsletter. Layout is basically a giant tri-fold brochure and was sent to press last week! This was a first go at designing this particular publication so I am looking forward to hearing what all the ladies loved or would like to see changed. (I intentionally blurred some text and photos - but you get the picture.)
A few details - the lower green panels (x2) are both intended to be cut and mailed in - my intent was to encourage folks to do BOTH (donate and vote). When this is printed and folded, each panel will be on one side of the page - if you cut one, you cut 'em both. The big empty space in the upper middle is the mailing panel; this newsletter will be folded in half as a self-mailer.

HOME: state tables
For all you folks who are proud of your state: COOL TABLE ALERT from 900 Blok. Coffee tables + end tables in the shape of states. I'd like to order Iowa tables in bulk to go in every room.

Awesome illustrations from Inlee - notecards, prints, calendars available, too. I'm itching to get back to sketching after seeing these!

2012: spring cleaning
Spring weather = spring cleaning = tossing clothes I've had since high school = empty hangers (44 in my case) = spring shopping. So spring weather = spring shopping. J. Crew sales and I have been making good friends after the Great Closet Purge of 2012. (Shout out to Cindy for her help!) Best wishes in your own spring cleaning endeavors.

Be impressed by Siebe Warmoeskerken's photo series entitled Cookie Splash. I'd love to be able to handle a camera like this some day.

WORK: griottes
This might be my most favorite find to date. Griottes featured these incredible pantone swatches out of food. Wish I had thought of this first - so creative!

HOME: manor fine wares
Such cool, quirky home finds at Manor Fine Wares. Also, I have a weakness for ampersands. And a chalkboard globe? That's my kind of geography - the kind I can draw myself.

WEAR: think pink
(A) I don't particularly like the color pink. (B) I don't particularly like wearing color. (C) I am alarmed/surprised/enthused by the fact that I have been gravitating to [neon] pink items as of late. Looks like my Year of Color resolution might actually be sinking in.

HOME: skona hem
I have spent many any hour scouring the images and rooms on Skona hem. This swedish home site boasts awesomely minimal and interestingly decorated rooms. It took me forever to decide which photos I wanted to share first, so rest assured knowing this is not the last you'll see of Skona hem on OMH.
